The 2023 festival will run March 1 – 3.

Submission Deadlines

The Cannes Short Film Festival 2023 accepts Submissions from January 2023 until July 2023.

Early Submissions Deadline — October 24, 2023
Regular Submissions Deadline — November 17, 2023
Late Submissions Deadline — Dec 12, 2023

All filmmakers will be notified before Feb 5, 2024.

Festival Categories

The Cannes Short Film Festival is open to international films in one of the following categories:

Short Film
Short Documentary
Animated Short
Experimental Short
LGBT Short
Horror Short
Sci-Fi Short
Music Video

Entry Fees

CSFF accepts only digital submissions

Fees for short films: €40 early, €45 regular, €50 late .
Fees for short short films under 5 and music videos: €35 early, €40 regular, €45 late.

Eligibility

The Cannes Short Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing new emerging film talent.

All photos submitted may be used for any festival promotions.

The festival screens native-language English and French films. Non-English or French language produced films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.

All entrants certify that they have been given full rights to use any and all music in their films.

Jury Award winners will be selected by a panel of active film industry professionals. All films go through a screening process and are reviewed by at least two members of the selection committee.

CSFF Nominees agree to participate in the publicity for the Festival as well as other promotional events, including website, social media, international press coverage and festival trailers edited by G. Papinutto of Agence Gamines.

Awards will be announced after the festival. An Awards Certificate will be awarded to the winners. Some Award categories may have co-sponsors providing prizes. One award or prize will be given to the individual designated on the official entry form as “submitter”.

Filmmakers or screenwriters accepted and attending the festival are responsible for travel, lodging, and all other expenses.
